At the Casanova 25 dental clinic in Barcelona we offer a range of facial aesthetic treatments:
- Hyaluronic acid
Hyaluronic acid is a natural component which is used in anti-aging beauty treatments to eliminate imperfections (such as wrinkles), to heal joint diseases (such as arthritis), and in cosmetics.
There are two industries that use hyaluronic acid: facial aesthetics and rehabilitation (repair of trauma). At Casanova 25 Barcelona, we mainly use hyaluronic acid for our facial treatments to fill in wrinkles and moisturize the skin. We use it to enhance the lips, remove dark under-eye circles and as a facial filler. Hyaluronic acid injections are also used in rehabilitation treatments to treat mobility problems in the joints (especially the knees) and for osteoarthritis, acting as a lubricant for knees, elbows, and phalanges.
Hyaluronic acid is available in different densities:
- Low molecular weight hyaluronic acid: used in treatments for patients who have very subtle and superficial wrinkles in areas of the face where skin is more delicate. The treatment can be repeated 4 to 6 months after the first session and every 6 months after that.
- Medium molecular weight hyaluronic acid: used for patients with forehead wrinkles and superficial wrinkles on the cheeks. It is also used to plump up or augment the lips and to treat the area above the eyebrows. We recommend a session every 6 to 7 months.
- High molecular weight hyaluronic acid: used to treat medium/deep wrinkles of the face like nasolabial folds (laugh lines), and to enhance volume in the cheeks, sides of the nose and lips. The ideal frequency is every 8 to 10 months for optimal results.
Facial mesotherapy is a facial aesthetic technique that we use at the Casanova 25 dental clinic in Barcelona's Eixample neighborhood to rejuvenate, tone and firm the face, neck and neckline. It can also be used to treat hands and elbows.
Facial mesotherapy is applied directly using vitamins, hyaluronic acid and minerals.
Facial mesotherapy is used mainly to firm sagging skin on the face, neck, neckline and/or hands and leave skin looking radiant. It also deeply moisturizes for smoother, brighter skin.
This treatment is suitable for anyone (men and women) looking for more toned and radiant skin. However, facial mesotherapy is not recommended for anyone with hypersensitive or atopic skin or a clotting disorder.
A facial peel is a cosmetic treatment that removes sun spots, acne scars and wrinkles.
A chemical peel is the perfect option for smoothing wrinkles, and rejuvenates and hydrates while restoring the luminosity and even texture your skin deserves.
How is a facial peel performed?
As its name indicates, a facial peel involves the application of a chemical solution that exfoliates or removes the outer layers of the skin. In performing chemical peels, physicians apply acids like glycolic acid, salicylic acid, mandelic acid, resorcinol and phenol to the skin.
This treatment is applied primarily to the face, but also be used on the back, arms, hands, etc.
Advantages of a facial peel
One of the main advantages of a peel is that it is suitable for any skin type. It is also painless (no need for general anesthesia), simple and quick, with the treatment session lasting from 2 to 5 hours, depending on the type of peel. The results are immediate and patients will have instantly brighter skin.
However, the complete removal of all blemishes and/or scars cannot be guaranteed.
